The
Government Joint Investigations Team has formally arrested Three (3) FRA Agents
for Theft by Agent Contrary to Section 278 of the penal Code, Cap 87 of the
Laws of Zambia.
Mr. Davis Kayame aged 50, an Assistant Warehouse
Manager of Katondwe Depot and Fanwell Bwalya a Katondwe Depot Buyer, both of
Seedfarm Compound in Chinsali District issued eight (8) fake produce received
notes (PRN) valued at Seventy Nine Million Five hundred And Sixty Thousand
Kwacha (79, 560,000) to two (2) named Women purporting to have supplied maize
to FRA when in fact not
In
the same vain, the Investigations Team has seized a Hammer mill and Generator
belonging to Mr. Edward Sinkala, Secretary of Chunga satellite Depot, Chinsali
District in relation to theft of FRA maize at the Chunga Depot.
The
assets are suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Mr
Sinkala is currently at large.
Mr Loyed Melele aged 25 a Depot Buyer of the
same Chunga Depot has also been arrested for theft.
The
three FRA agents are currently in police custody at Chinsali Police Station and
are scheduled to appear in Court soon.
